Join us for exclusive gathering of industry thought leaders, colleagues and the P&R Dental Strategies team — all converging at the top of Chicago’s Dana Hotel & Spa for a day of thought provoking discussion and training. At this unique Learning & Informatics Summit we’ll be highlighting challenging issues facing dental payers and the real informatics solutions you can use to get ahead today and in 2017.
Reception and Welcome Tour
The event kicks off on the evening of June 22 with a reception of food, drink and networking with colleagues in the Peristyle Lounge of the Dana Hotel.Later in the evening, join us to unwind with a fabulous boat tour of the Windy City on all three branches of the Chicago River. Wendella Boats, Chicago’s Original Architecture Tour®, will lead us on a comprehensive tour navigating through the heart of the city while a professionally-trained architectural guide tells the story of more than 130 years of innovation in design, style and technique.
Following opening remarks from P&R Dental Strategies’ CEO, Paul Sheils, and a keynote by Dr. Juan Yepes, Associate Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at Indiana University School of Dentistry that is sure to inform and entertain, we get down to business with an Informatics track discussing some of the key challenges facing dental payers today (and what you can do about them!).A Learning track will run concurrent to the Informatics track for attendees who want a deep-dive, hands-on learning experience with P&R Dental Strategies’ insights tools. Learning track sessions will repeat so attendees can get as much of both tracks as they like. Also not to be missed will be a lunchtime presentation by Dr. Fred Eichmiller, DDS, MS, Vice President & Science Officer at Delta Dental of Wisconsin, who has published an array of academic papers during the course of his career and holds twelve patents reflecting research on dental restorative materials and other industry topics.

Juan F. Yepes DDS, MD, MPH, MS, DrPH Associate Professor of Pediatric Dentistry, Department of Pediatric Dentistry, James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children, Indiana University School of DentistryDr. Yepes is an associate professor in the department of pediatric dentistry at Indiana University School of Dentistry and an attending at Riley Children Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Juan F. is a dentist (DDS) and a physician (MD) from Javeriana University at Bogotá, Colombia. In 1999, Juan F. moved to the USA and attended the University of Iowa and the University of Pennsylvania where he completed a fellowship and residency in Radiology and Oral Medicine respectively in 2002 and 2004. In 2006, Juan F. completed a Master in Public Health (MPH), and in 2011 a Doctoral Degree in Public Health (DrPH) both with emphasis in Epidemiology at the University of Kentucky College of Public Health. In 2008, Juan F. completed a residency program in Dental Public Health at University of Texas, Baylor College of Dentistry. Finally, Juan F. completed a residency program and a masters in pediatric dentistry at the University of Kentucky in 2012. Juan F. is board-certified by the American Boards of Pediatric Dentistry, Oral Medicine, and Dental Public Health.
Fred Eichmiller, DDS, MS Vice-President and Science Officer, Delta Dental of WisconsinDr. Eichmiller is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with Degrees in Dentistry and Mechanical Engineering. He was in private practice for five years and has had dental teaching assignments at the University of Minnesota, the University of Texas San Antonio, the University of Washington Seattle, Howard University in Washington, DC, and the Navy Dental School in Bethesda, MD. Prior to joining Delta Dental of Wisconsin in the fall of 2006, Dr. Eichmiller served for eight years as Chief Clinical Research Scientist and twelve years as Managing Director of the American Dental Association Foundation’s Paffenbarger Research Center, a dental research enterprise operated by the American Dental Association’s Foundation. The center, located in Gaithersburg, Md., engages in cooperative dental and medical materials research with government scientists and others, helping to develop standards, treatments, instruments and materials used by dentists nationwide. Dr. Eichmiller has published an array of academic papers and twelve patents reflecting research on dental restorative materials and other topics. He serves on numerous industry panels and committees.
